360p and 480p – small files for slow connections
A 10-minute video usually comes in well under 100 MB at these sizes. Fine for a phone screen, for sending in a chat app, or when you are on a limited data plan. Both are H.264 and play on anything.
Salva qualsiasi video di YouTube come file MP4 a 360p, 720p o 1080p. Qualità originale, H.264 per ogni dispositivo, senza registrazione.
Usando Y-Download accetti i nostri Termini di servizio e la Privacy Policy.
Open the video and copy its URL from the address bar, or use Share → Copy link in the YouTube app. Short youtu.be links, links with a timestamp and embed links work too.
Paste the link into the field at the top of this page. Within about two seconds you will see the video's title, duration and every MP4 quality with its codec and estimated size. 720p is a sensible default for phones; 1080p suits TVs and monitors.
Click Download next to the resolution you chose. Y-Download fetches the video and audio streams, merges them into one MP4 and shows the progress live. When it reaches 100%, the file is saved to your Downloads folder with the video's title as the filename.
Open the MP4 in any player, copy it to a USB stick for your TV, or AirDrop it to your phone. Files up to 1080p use H.264 and AAC, so no extra codecs or apps are needed.
Many downloaders hand you whatever stream is largest. Y-Download picks H.264 video with AAC audio whenever YouTube offers it up to 1080p, so the MP4 opens on older TVs, iPhones and editing software without a codec hunt.
Every available quality is listed with its estimated file size before you download. Take 480p to save data on a phone plan or 1080p for a large screen – the decision is yours, made with real numbers.
Video and audio are merged, not converted. The picture in your MP4 is the same stream YouTube serves at that resolution, and 60 fps videos stay at 60 fps.
Merging a 1080p video takes seconds to a couple of minutes depending on length. You see percentage, speed and time remaining, and the file starts saving the moment it is ready.
Files up to 1080p play in Windows Media Player, QuickTime, VLC, on smart TVs from a USB drive and on any phone. Copy them wherever you like – there is no watermark and no expiry date.
No account, no browser extension, no daily cap. Links you paste are not stored beyond short operational logs, and finished files are deleted from our servers after 30 minutes.
Y-Download turns a YouTube link into an MP4 file you can keep. Paste the address of any video and, about two seconds later, you get a list of every resolution YouTube offers for it – typically 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p, with 1440p and 4K on videos that were uploaded that sharp. Each entry shows the codec and an estimated file size, so converting YouTube to MP4 comes down to picking the row that suits your screen and your storage and clicking Download.
Compatibility is the reason people ask for MP4, and it is the reason Y-Download prefers H.264 video with AAC audio for everything up to 1080p. That pairing is the closest thing video has to a universal standard: it plays in QuickTime and Windows Media Player, on iPhones and Android phones, on smart TVs and game consoles, and it drops straight into iMovie, Premiere or PowerPoint without a conversion step. YouTube keeps picture and sound as separate streams, so we merge them on our servers with ffmpeg. Nothing is re-encoded, which means the MP4 you save has exactly the quality YouTube plays at that resolution.
There is no software to install, no account and no limit on how many videos you download. Y-Download runs in the browser you already have – Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, Edge or Firefox on a laptop – and hands the finished MP4 to the browser's normal download manager, named after the video. Files are removed from our servers 30 minutes after they are created. The service has been online since 2021 and was rebuilt in 2026.
A 10-minute video usually comes in well under 100 MB at these sizes. Fine for a phone screen, for sending in a chat app, or when you are on a limited data plan. Both are H.264 and play on anything.
720p HD looks sharp on any phone or tablet and on smaller laptop screens, at roughly half the size of 1080p. If you are unsure, start here. On a 6-inch display most people cannot tell it apart from Full HD.
Full HD is the highest resolution YouTube encodes in H.264, which makes 1080p MP4 the strongest combination of quality and compatibility. A 10-minute 1080p60 file is usually 250–300 MB; at 30 fps it is smaller. This is the file to put on a USB stick for your TV or drop into a video editor.
Above 1080p YouTube only stores VP9 and AV1 video, so those MP4s keep the newer codec. They play in Chrome, VLC, on recent phones and on most 2020+ TVs, but not in QuickTime. If your video is available in 4K, our dedicated 4K downloader page explains the trade-offs.
Copy the video's link, paste it into the box at the top of this page and pick a resolution from the list. Y-Download merges YouTube's video and audio streams into one MP4 and your browser saves it. There is no fee, no account and no software – the whole process happens on this page.
Yes. We do not re-encode the picture. YouTube already stores the video at each resolution as a finished stream; Y-Download downloads the stream you chose plus the best audio and puts them in an MP4 container. What you save is exactly what YouTube would play at that setting, including 60 fps when the upload has it.
Files up to 1080p use H.264 video and AAC audio, the most widely supported combination there is. They play on smart TVs from a USB drive, in QuickTime and Windows Media Player, on iPhone and Android and in every editing program. Only 1440p and 4K files use VP9 or AV1, which need a recent player such as VLC, Chrome or a 2020+ TV.
It depends on length, frame rate and how much motion the video has. As a guide, 10 minutes of 1080p at 60 fps is around 250–300 MB, and 30 fps material is smaller. Y-Download shows an estimated size next to every resolution before you download, so there are no surprises. The largest file we produce is 4 GB, and videos up to 4 hours long are supported.
Yes. Open Y-Download in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, paste the link and tap the 1080p row. iPhone saves the MP4 to the Files app under Downloads; Android saves it to the Downloads folder, where your gallery app will find it. On Android you can also install Y-Download as an app and share videos to it directly from YouTube.
Yes. Standard youtube.com/watch links, short youtu.be links, links copied with a timestamp and embed URLs are all recognized, as are Shorts and YouTube Music links. Whether you think of it as YouTube to MP4 or YT to MP4, the process is the same: paste, wait a moment, choose a quality. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos cannot be downloaded, and live streams are available only after they end and YouTube finishes processing them.
Yes. The same result card has an Audio tab with MP3 at 320 or 128 kbps, the original M4A or OPUS stream, and WAV or FLAC. If you want the video with sound, stay on the Video tab – every MP4 already includes the best available audio track.
