In the YouTube app, tap Share on the Short and choose Copy link. In a browser, copy the address, which looks like youtube.com/shorts/ followed by an 11-character ID. A regular youtube.com/watch?v= link to the same video works too.
Paste the link into the box at the top of this page. The Short is analyzed in about two seconds and you will see its title, length and the available qualities, normally up to 1080p, plus the audio options.
Tap Download next to 1080p (or a smaller size) to save the vertical video, or switch to the Audio tab and pick MP3 to save only the sound. The file is prepared with live progress and saved by your browser.
On iPhone the MP4 lands in the Files app; open it and use the Share button to save it to Photos. On Android it appears in Downloads and in your gallery. From there you can share it to any app.
The Short is saved in its original portrait orientation and 9:16 aspect ratio, up to 1080×1920, so it fills a phone screen and drops into Reels, TikTok or a video editor without cropping or black bars.

Most Shorts are uploaded from a phone at 1080×1920, so 1080p is the top quality available and the list usually offers 360p to 1080p. Shorts are handled one link at a time, but each one takes only seconds. If the Shorts belong to a public playlist, paste the playlist link and Y-Download lists up to 500 videos with an individual download button next to each, so you can work through them without re-pasting.
Download only Shorts you are allowed to keep: your own uploads, clips released under a permissive license such as Creative Commons, or videos whose creator has given you permission.
